...and the rest is interesting. It features the great 1937
sessions with Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grapelly, including
Lady Be Good, Dinah, Daphne, Sweet Georgia Brown. These cuts
are outstanding examples of jazz violin.
Much of the other music on both volumes is not really jazz.
It's what I'd call "high society cafe-music", without improvisation.
Beautifully played violin though...
