The best DVD that i own. Amazing, heartwarming, emotional production that will take you back to the roots of Latin Jazz. Fans of Latin/Afr-Cuban Jazz must have this film. I learned so much about the roots of this most wonderfull music watching this film. Dizzie is absolutley captivating, one of the most generous musicians, a prodigy a grand master of soulfull music. Deffinate in your Latin collections.

Just as I expected. But the satisfaction really comes from the content of the DVD. A worthy purchase.

First to say, that this is not a concert but a documentary movie. With a lot of music thoug. Its really fun to watch two of the worlds greatest trumpeters joke around! A lot of great trumpet playing and cool interwies... A trumpeters best buy this year. >-iii-<0

Not only does he blurr past his notes with mastery but his register breaks the sound barrier making Maynard Ferguson take a look. This is a definite must have for all fans!!

Ernie Watts has been on the scene lending his unique tone to countless recordings. His most visible tenure recently was with the outstanding Charlie Haden-led ensemble "Quartet West". Now Ernie steps out on his own after a long time with a strong modern recording. If you had to describe Ernie it would be the big bodied tone of Dexter Gordon, with that flare for making strong declarative musical statement mixed with the lyrical modern sensibilities of John Coltrane.

He runs the gamut on this recording. From modern bost-bop to a wild romp aggressive romp on "Angel's Flight".

When Ernie plays a ballad it's memorable. He can improvise both souffully and still explore the intracies, never at the sacrifice of the song though. "You Leave Me Breathless" is a fine example of this.

This recording is a good example of a player well steeped in the tradition but looking forward after all these years.

Paquito D'rivera and Arturo sandoval are very very good musicians they play every song in this album with incredible taste and emotion.I reommend this album

I'm not a jazz expert, but I wanted to fix the rating problem on this CD. Only one other reviewer rated it, clearly loved it, and gave it a "1", which he thought was the highest rating, but is in fact the lowest rating. D'Rivera is a great musician and this is terrific music, maybe his best.
