This CD contains Djavan's second and third albums on one CD--and it's not to be missed. From samba grooves to jazzy progressions,
Djavan's song--and definitely their inherent arrangements--are top-notch. There are many fine songs on this, my favorites
being "Água", "A Rosa" (with Chico Buarque), "Lambada de Serpente", "Estoria de Cantador" and "Alagoas", to name only a
few.

Djavan's music might very well be the most moving you and I will ever hear in a lifetime. I don't speak or even slightly comprehend
Portugese, yet in a way that is what evokes even more emotion within me when listening. It's not about the words, for the
meaning is found in how the music moves me. "Agua" is a beautiful track, one of the reasons I first decided to purchase this
beautiful gem just recently. But as the other reviewer stated, "Lambada de Serpente" and "Estoria de Cantador" are of equal
caliber. These 3 songs are worth the price of the cd alone. This is music that will take you outside of yourself for a bit,
and though it's available universally for all it will become at once intimately personal for anyone who cares to listen. I
cannot recommend this album enough, every music lover should have this one in their library.

Djavan is one of the strong talents in Brazilian music. This compilation includes songs from his first two albums. Highlights
include "Samba Dobrado", "Serrado" and the beautiful "Agua". His voice is unique and the melodies display creativity.

This album is incredibly easy to listen to. "Sablan" is my personal favorite. Pat has such an unbelievable feel for different
latin grooves. I recommend everyone should own this album.

I originally purchased this CD only because Andy Narell played Steel Pans on three of the tracks. I'm a longtime Andy Narell
fan. However, this entire CD quickly grew on me and became one of my favorites. I'm listening to it right now at the office!
One of the amazing things, learned from the liner notes, is that Patrick Palomo is an entirely self-taught musician. His
beautifully structured compositions are filled with many diverse musical influences. No two sound alike. All are very moving.
His support band is great to say the least. Adding Andy Narell and Joyce Cooling (on Guitar and Vocals) to that only makes
it all that more perfect. Highly recommended! I will be buying more of his work (even if Andy's not on it).

Patrick Palomo and his group are VERY tight on each and every trak. Palomo is such an extremely talented jazz pianist Im
surprised he is not more widely recognized. This recording is ideal for dinner/ cocktail settings.

An excellent and very representative collection, of one of the most dynamic and eclectic bands in the SF Bay Area in the 70's.
An all women jazz band. Powerfull, moving, striving, full of love and energy. Fronted by the always amazing Rhiannon on lead
vocals, they swung hard and always delivered performances that stood up with the best of the Bay Area's jazz scene, no small
accomplishment in the 70's. Davis thanks, for introducing me to Alive! during their heyday in the 70's.

Excellent rhythms and percussion, a good choice for the percussionist in your life.
Lots of spacious melody lines and traditional vocal harmonies.
I play bass and I'm learning quite a bit about rhythm from these folk.
Dig it!
