Latin Jazz Music

I saw this guy in concert in New York two weeks ago, and he is amazing!!! I have no idea where this guy came from, but New York needs more Jazz musicians like this. Not only is he a gifted percussionist, but he successfully balances and intertwines the harmonic and rhythmic relationships in his music. So many Latin Jazz artists are execsivelly rhythmically driven, but Stable doesn't mind taking a step back to let the harmonies take the lead. He uses what I later found out to be a FLamenco "Cajon" which is a simple wooden box where rhyuthms are tapped out of with the hand. That was a nice touch to jazz.

I overheard an audience member at the concert say that he just mixed a track on one of Stable's upcoming second album featuring saxophonist Paquito D'Rivera. I don't know when it is coming out, but I can;t wait. By the way, he is not just a great percussionist and a terrific Latin Jazz artist, but he is also a GREAT composer, and this album shows not only that but his skills as a gifted Producer as well. Buy this record, if you don't like it, I will buy it from you!!!

This album is great from start to finish. Great ensemble and extraordinary compositions. Listen to Arturo's amazing chops on congas. Outstanding talent from this Cuban percussionist.
This one is a must have for Latin jazz lovers.

This CD shows Paquito at his best. He gathered up some of the best cuban musicians to make this session . . . and it shows! Album presages the Buena Vista by 4 years and is every bit as good. This is one of my favorate D'Rivera CDs.

I can't believe any self-respecting jazz aficionado would give this album anything less than a 5 star rating.
Paquito is simply THE reigning master of Latin / Cuban jazz and this is one of his finest efforts.
Paquito is lyrical beyond imagination and his inspiring, melodical themes are unmatched in any style of music.
As if that weren't enough, the percussion and rhythm sections on this album are phenomenal. The jam / groove arrangements are intoxicatingly exuberant.
This album is Afro-Cuban rhythms and Latin jazz at its pinnacle.
Paquito's classical polish brings a degree of sophistication and elegance that puts him in a class of his own.
This CD is and always will be on the top shelf of my collection. It is timeless perfection.

This c.d. is a real taste and smell of Cuban culture.
It is so genius that I have never ( untill now ) treasured a c.d. so much, that when I die I want to be burried with it.
Cachito was spectacular on this album, it's as if Cuba is in my back yard everytime I listen to this album.
Ten thumbs up for this incredible album.

This album smokes. Jazz fans listen up. Popular music could really use a shot of this kind of influence. And if you've never seen Paquito live, go now or you'll regret that you've been missing it for so long when you realize how good this music is. Nothing lasts forever.
