This album by Peter is awesome. It has the great catchy vocals Peter is known for and the beat is haunting. A great album
to have when hanging around just "meditating" so buy this one!

I did not care for this the first couple times I gate it a whirl but it has really grown on me. Swat Her is a great track.
I Like madhatter, and concertadicto alot. This is a bit of a departure from their earlier punk recordings, but you cant expect
people to keep playing the same tired punk chords their whole life. so if you like the adicts and already have songs of praise,
smart alex, sound of music, and fifth overture, then buy this and i am positive it will grow on you too

when you first listen to rise and shine it dosent feel like the adicts so i suggest if your just getting into the adicts to
get either "songs of praise" or "sound of music" those are two to get started on, but if you have been listening to the adicts
for a while, BUY THIS, ITS SO FREAKIN GOOD. once you get used to it almost every song on here is your favorite (exept goldfish
and concertadicto for me) but other than that this album is awesome!!! BUY IT

A BRILLIANT DEBUT

Strictly speaking, rise and shine isn't a "debut" per se. Lead singer Ed Hale had already released two solo albums and three
more with college favs Broken Spectacles. But this being the first official Transcendence disc, his newest band at the time,
it is a remarkable testament to how talented this group was being together for less than a year before they started recording
these tracks. Quite possibly the most eclectic mix of musical styles ever assembled on one album and still managing to work,
rise and shine is truly a masterpeice as many of the other reviewers have already made mention of. Song after great song one
is left to wonder just how creative this guy can get. Starts off rocking your tail off and ends in a lush dream. Traverses
many a musical mile in between. Transcendence truly transcend the "indie rock" genre they are classified in on this first
disc.
Love every song on this album!

This was my first Transcendence album which I got in Oct. 2002. I listened to it straight for 4 months and now again, have
put back in my car cd player; the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. I love the diversity, the worldiness, the different
languages, the guitars, the drums, the flutes, the violins the whistles, everything about it rocks me!
Ed Hale's beautiful voice & talent as a well rounded and diverse musician is evident on every track of this album. I love all the interludes before, between and after the songs.
I love everything about track #5 Paris ... the slow singing with awesome drums in the background, the violins and keyboard; absolutely love the ending of this song.
Love the lyrics and music of Love is You - you can feel Ed and what he is feeling on this song; awesome drums & flute playing. The next track Mother starts beautifully and continues with Ed's magnificent voice and powerful lyrics.
Journey is truly revolutionary.
Letter to a Friend is one of my most favorite tracks on this album; I love the lyrics & music; it touches my heart in so many ways.
Rise & Shine is an excellent example of the inspirational message Ed is so good about sending ... one can't help but feel like they need to step up & take more responsibility for world events.
And the album ends with Ed's beautiful Brazilian adaptation of All You Need is Love ending with Ed's lullaby Dream ... this is one of the best albums I've ever heard! Big cheers to Ed & the Transcendence for a true work of art and heart.

At first I was skeptical. The Ambassador's voice is not so common yet strangely familiar after giving it a second listen.
Then I realized that I saw a young guitarist/singer in New York back in 1995. He blew me away with his original stlye and
soul-touching lyrics. Then I realized it's him: Ed Hale! I never thought I'd hear his music again until now that I own "Rise
and Shine", his full band debut since the 1990s. The arrangements and playing on this record are intelligent and superb.
The drum tracks are fresh out of the oven from a young drummer named Ricardo Mazzi, with Stro playing a beutiful melodic bass.
The guitars are soothing yet packed with powerful riffs and crunches. RISE AND SHINE!
This CD goes into the time capsule!

Creative inspiration. The music stirs me. It heals my heart and soul. It promotes freedom. I feel a sense of newness, aliveness,
creative birth. Me, dawning with the excitement of living. I can relate to the amazing life journey and the creative story
told in the Rise and Shine CD. I'm so glad this cd was made. It tells me that I can make it too. They are so extremely talented.
I can't stop playing the Rise and Shine CD (love the mix and arrangments). Wow! Hip! The music rocks and cracks my eggshell
even more. Ed Hale is a muse.
