Diane Marino's new CD "Just Groovin" is a first class labor of love and innovation. She takes 60's standards and gives them a burst of cool clean air with her amazing arrangements and sultry voice. I'm sure all of her featured artists agree otherwise they wouldn't have joined her on this project. Diane's duet with Felix Cavaliere could be another hit single today. Don't just take my word, go out and get the CD and you will agree with me that "Just Groovin" is first class.

I was so taken by this CD, I wanted to share my thoughts so others could experience Diane Marino with equal enthusiasm. After reading the reviews already posted, I am delighted to see that I'm not the only one who feels this way. The selection of songs, their inspired arrangements and her breath-taking voice make for a truly exceptional experience. She's the BEST!...I now have all her CDs.

If you want the perfect example of how to do this the right way... the stunningly compelling way... look no further than Nashville-based singer Diane Marino's new album JUST GROOVIN'. This one is an absolute show-stopper! A dozen of my all-time favorite 60's pop standards, from artists like The Beach Boys, Rascals and Ronettes, performed with sparkling jazz and big band arrangements. This is just an outstanding project and really a fun, fresh take on songs that are instantly recognizable to those of us who were around for the originals. Even if you're too young to remember the originals, these are still fantastic performances of great titles like "Baby I'm Yours" and "The Warmth of the Sun" and the duet, "Groovin," featuring The Rascals' Felix Cavaliere, the original singer of this pop classic. Add in guest appearances by sax men Kirk Whalum and Houston Person, plus trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, and you have sealed the deal on one of the most enjoyable listens for me in a long time. It is a perfect example of how to produce and arrange standards so as not to loose the magic that caused them to be standards in the first place. You will not be dissapointed.
