Bubble from Ab Fab sounds exactly like Marilyn Monroe, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland and others. What a talent. She needs
her own Las Vegas Show. She would be beyond great!

Jane pulls out all the stops and gives us a stellar recording connecting us to the women who pioneered jazz and standards.
Ms. Horrocks' impressions of these amazing women is mind boggling. She has thier voices perfected right down to phrasing
and calls there personalities from the great beyond. Thank you Jane for a phenominal recording.

I recently acquired this CD through amazon.co.uk after catching Ms. Horrocks on Michael Parkinson's BBC talk show. To hear
her sing as Garland, Holiday, Dietrich, Bassey and Monroe was simply fantastic. What knocked me out was her choice of songs,
and the contributions of Robbie Williams and Ewan McGregor (let us not forget Dino, through the magic of modern technology).
I have become a fan of this gifted performer through her work on "Absolutely Fabulous," and of course, the film that inspired this CD, "Little Voice." More please!!!
Horrocks recently sang on Parkinson (BBC America)-Wow!

I saw Little Voice but never bought the CD. Last Sunday Jane Horrocks was on the Parkinson talk show on BBC America and sang
"Too Close for Comfort" as Shirley Bassey. That convinced me that I need to buy this CD. What a talent!

Carol Saboya is the daughter of Antonio Adolfo, a great piano
player and composer. She has a lovely voice and is a great interpreter of a song. Nelson Faria is a wonderful guitar accompanist, and this is quite an album. All the songs are by Jobim, and the choice is off-beat, omitting all the best known. There are some gems here, though I could have done without Chansong and Bonita, two of Jobim's weakest songs - they do show that Ms Saboya sings very well in English as well as Portuguese, however. She has a great future.

Didn't make an impression

The music in this CD is pleasant and the guitar playing is good but the whole CD felt more like elevator music than serious
music which brings out the individuality of these artists. Not much of the music stuck in my head or had me marveling at the
beauty of a tune or the virtuosity of the artists.
Jardim Abandonado is AMAZING!!!!!

The Assad's are the best guitar duo on this planet! There have been many attempts to imitate their talent,
but these guys define musical and instrumental virtuosity. No one else comes close to these guys and this record is full of some amazing/wonderful transcriptions and arrangements only possible with their gifts
and artistry. "Jardim Abandonado" is a legendary recording! Their arrangement and interpretation of
Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" is magical and effective. They also offer novel and exciting renditions
of works by Debussy, Jobim, and Sergio's original. Also, a brilliant new work by Clarice Assad featured
on the CD as well. This is ANOTHER favorite in my collection of Assad CD's. A must have recording from
this Brazilian superduo! Thanks for making such wonderful music!

Once again the Assad Duo display their mastery over a wide range of stylistic music from the rhythms of their homeland Brazil
to the jazz influence of the US with visits to Europe's impressionism and the modality of the mid-east. The recording is full
of pure beauty and exhilaration. This is a must own CD - not just for guitarists!

I find this music very uplifting when I need to have my spirits uplifted. A soak in the tub glass of wine and Jazz Around
Midnight is a little slice of heaven to take away the days troubles and wash them down the drain. Soo any time I need a lift
I just pop in Jazz Around Midnight.
