This import is Antonio Carlos Jobim playing piano and singing his songs. It says it is by Tom Jobim, but that is actually what his friends called him. He has a lot of family and friends in Brazil, and they all were inspired by his example. Lots of his children are still making music. You might think Tom Jobim was a son or a cousin, but that is just what they called him. Antonio Carlos Jobim sounds very musical, but it is very long, so Tom for short.

This has a lot of his best songs on it: Água de beber, Desafinado, Samba de uma nota só, Chega de saudade, Dindi, Corcovado, Águas de março, and of course, Garota de Ipanema. There 18 tracks. It is recorded live at a concert in Brazil. He speaks in Portugese between songs, and their is no attempt at translation, so I am thinking that this is a very intimate concert for friends and family, and other Brazilians. He feels very comfortable, even making a few mistakes, but they don't concern him, as if he is playing in front of friends.

This is a very nice recording, if you can find it.

This is a solo piano gig just Jobim playing and singing unaccompanied.
The piano and recording are excellent. It sounds to me like a hall of about 2000 people. It's all in Porteguese. All the tunes are one time through and about 2 and half minutes long.It's a great look into the mind of a genius.

If you don't mind the operatic-style of singing, then these arrangements of Jobims's pieces will interest you. "Canta mais" is actually quite a nice arrangement on this album, as is "Modinha". But, nothing can compare with the original Jobim versions. The real treat is the Piazzolla. The orchestral arrangement of "Muerte Del Angel", "Berceuse" and "Primavera Portena" are so powerful you'll wet your pants.

This score is absolutely fabulous, I can't take Misia's voice out of my head, the whole score is so tender and relaxing that you'll play it over and over.

An utterly intoxicating lush, romantic film score that lingers in memory long after you listen to it. Harry Gregson Williams has outdone himself with this beauty! The songs by Misia are a treat for sure, as is a rendition of Felicidade, by Suba and Shebelle. Buy it, you'll play it over and over again. My favorite score of the year.

I enjoyed the movie very much and music resonated in my mind, I wanted to get a copy of the sound track, perhaps its been a while since I saw the movie but was fairly disappointed at the soundtrack, which lacked a lot of the soulful and passionate influence depicted in the movie, the vocals where lost, not there at all ... dont get me wrong, the music was still good but conflicted with my expectation of what I enjoyed in the movie itself.... perhaps its because it was more instrumental sounds versus vocals.. I dont know, but I have not played it since I bought it ...sorry!
