I love the title track, the perfect example of romantic Cool!
This is much of very early '50's Stan Getz at his aloof, cool best with the great, lyrical, lost man of Bebop, Al Haig, on piano. Stan is at the top of his form. Haig throws off these rapid argeggios with unbelievable precision and sweet sound. There is much overlap between this album and the 3 cd box set of Roost recordings. Get this, it's cheaper.
Recording quality varies, all monophonic, but the mono recordings often sound better than the ping-pong stereo, sax on the left and drums on the right, that followed.
Highly recommended. Sound is better captured than many of Getz '50's recordings. This is a much better Getz album than the more popular "Storyville" album from the same period. Better recorded and better tunes.

To that effect, check out "Captain Marvel." Chick's bad and badder than ever on it, not to mention the machine drumming going on. This CD, though, includes a good sampling of Stan Getz's style. If you only plan on owning 1 Getz CD, this is it.
