The audio was so dissapointing that after playing this three times, it is also in the back of my closet!

I WAS GIVEN A COPY OF THIS SHOW ,AND WAS HURT TO SEE THE SHOW PUT IN A BACK YARD SETTING,WHICH IS HOW SOME FESTIVALS ARE DONE. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF PLAYING WITH THESE CATS A FEW TIMES,ON PERCUSSIONS,AND VOCALS. I HAVE TO SAY THIS DVD DOES THEM NO GOOD! I WOULD ALMOST BELIEVE THEY DO NOT KNOW THIS PRODUCT OF THEM IS OUT. I REALLY BELIEVE THIS.IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE THEM IN PERSON,DO SO.THERE ARE DIFFERENT MUSICIANS ,WHICH IF YOU PLAY,KNOW COULD MAKE ,OR BREAK YOU,IN THIS CASE IT BROKE!SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS!

I was hoping this was a rare concert of the Brothers Johnson in their hay day. This is a concert of middle aged men who physically let themselves go. The energy, synergy is just not there. This is a pass, the picture on the cover is totally misleading...

When I read the reviews of others, I thought that it could never be possible...but they got it. This DVD is a whole bunch of s***. Poor video & sound quality, horrible mixing...and southern mamma girl chillin'at picnic???...

Don't buy this one...respect for the funk!

When I purchased this dvd I was really excited about the chance of finally seeing George and Louis live.But as soon as the music started I knew what I was in for.Being a musician you know when a set is just not happening. Out of tune saxophone, and just weak musicians altogether.George and Louis`s musicianship has definitely deteriorated.I learned to play bass because of hearing Louis.Now I hate to say it but, I can play like Louis better than Louis.Damn,what a shame.

I agree with Chictiz the sound man did The Brothers no justice but it isn't all that bad infact it was still transcendent...However there is something a lot of you don't know... because a lot of funk hits are embedded in my soul and brain due to me hearing it played so much in my house while growing up, I'm able to catch a lot of nuonces especially when it's remastered supposedly.Gettin right to the point...the guitar solo on Strawberry Letter 23 we all know and love I'm talking about the one on wax...we all remember how it seemed to take your mind into another place involuntarily,well if you've heard the guitar solo on the compact disc (cd) it is not the same in fact it sounds rather earhtbound and redone if you will...I'm saying that to say this...on the cd/dvd when he goes into the guitar solo it is purely remanissant of the wax version and thats what sold me on the cd/dvd,and he did it twice on the cd/dvd...lol what a treat...I know what i'm talking about because when heard it while listening to my ipod it brought tears to my eyes, conclusion while the cd/dvd isn't perfect and what live performance is? it proves that the Brothers Johnson have not lost a step...now if you are going to look for something wrong you will find it....but go out and cop this because you'll still love it after i heard it I spent 2 hours on youtube looking at old 70's live footage of The Brothers Johnson and they are still Thunder Thumbs and Lightin Licks baby...enjoy

always been down with the Brothers Johnson. the DVD was cool.George Johnson Cracked on Ringo Starr. the sit down interview was cool.glad the show was in Oakland.glad to see former Rick James&Gap band Backup singer Val Young supporting the Brothers Johnson on here.Louis Johnson still got the Thumps.He ripped up on Cameo's :Word Up".George was cool with His Playing.I dug when the Brothers Johnson did the Sly&the Family stone Tribute.they were Bumping then. the Brother on the Horn was Grooving as was the Keyboard Player&the Drummer. my only knock is that parts got obviously edited&dubbed down."Stomp" had my Crib Rocking. hit&Miss with George Johnson's Jimi Hendrix Tribute.but this is a cool must see&Jam for any fan of the Brothers Johnson.glad to see the Brothers are back&patched things up.when George said that they had enough material for 20 Albums I was like lets get it out now. when they were with Quincy Jones they made some Bumping Jams.oh I gotta give them dap for doing "land of Ladies". that is a smooth Jam.that is my cut along with Stomp.

Like a good live cd it works as a kind of best of and the tracks are solid and sound very fresh.. Highly recommended Brothers Johnson fans! They are totally resurrected!

I am so glad to see the Brother's Johnson have gotten back together after the feud that was profiled on VH-1 many years ago. The DVD is ok. The sound quality is in and out, especially when it comes to hearing Louis playing his bass and hearing the background singers. If you go to the extra features on the DVD, listen to the interview with Louis and George. You can tell that George rules over Louis. George also has some unflattering comments about Ringo Starr's drum playing. The CD, on the other hand, sounds great. I am sure that it had some help from the studio, but you can hear everything that the live DVD could not pick up. Louis's bass and George's guitar solos sound fantastic. If your are a Brother Johnson fan, the DVD will not bother you and it will be a nice purchase for your collection.

Glad to find this cd of some of the best of ole school funk. The Brothers Johnson bring back fond memories of the 70's with a few classics on this cd. Only six cuts on here for me.

I requested this CD as a Xmas gift from someone in my family, and my husband surprised me with it. I am very happy with it and was pleased with receiving all the background info in the jacket. I believe it is a well done compilation.

Just to fill the gap in your collection of 70s Funk & Soul collection, specially if you're looking for their hits "Stomp!", "Strawberry Letter 23" and "I'll Be Good To You". The rest is pure 'stuffing' material.

However the sound quality ot the CD is really good.

What a pleasant surprise, there is so much more to the Brothers Johnson than Strawberry Letter 23, Stomp,etc. The deep LP cuts we played in addition to the hits are here. Titles may not be familar, but the songs are!!!! Bravo & well done, collection. Also remastered to the fullest volume & includes a wonderful booklet with The Brothers history.
Please Q produce one more CD!!!!!!!

This CD takes you back to the days when music was about dancing, partying and feeling good inside. I love mostly all the songs even the ones I hadn't heard before. The real surprise was "Treasure" I did not know they sung that song. I, unlike another reviewer, did not hear any explicit language so I'm not sure which songs they are referring to. I can't wait to play this old school funk for my kids.

Sorry for your troubles Roni, but your voice is dead on this concert. However, your band is fabulous. I must keep it real!
